Every product in our catalogue is developed to our specifications, manufactured by audited partner facilities, tested against DIN EN 13432 and registered for the German market under the Verpackungsgesetz. Where applicable, products carry the OK Compost or Seedling marks.

Why this matters

Every packaging has a lifespan. The question is whether it ends in weeks or in centuries. A polythene bag dropped into a Berlin canal today will outlast everyone reading this page. Over the next 200 to 1000 years, it fractures into smaller fragments, travels through soil and water tables, and ends up in fish and in human bloodstreams.

Compostable packaging dropped into the same canal won't fare much better. Without heat, oxygen and the right microbes, it floats endlessly. Compostable packaging isn't designed to dissolve when you litter it; it's designed to give organic waste somewhere to go.

When a banana peel and a conventional plastic bag end up in the same bin, the entire bin is contaminated. Either the plastic gets sorted out manually — slow, expensive, imperfect — or the whole bin is diverted to a landfill. When the bag is compostable, the bin goes to an industrial composter. The waste becomes soil. The cycle closes in 12 weeks instead of centuries.
